Most recently, Abercrombie was the Executive Vice President of Partnership Sales & Activation for the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning, Amalie Arena, Tampa Bay Entertainment Properties and The Identity Tampa Bay. In addition, Abercrombie played a vital role in the Lightning’s partnership with the University of South Florida and its Athletics Department. After joining the Lightning in 2011, Abercrombie transformed a department that was ranked in the bottom tier in sponsorship revenue in the NHL to a top 10 ranking in his final season at the Lightning.
During his nine-year tenure, Abercrombie played an integral role in transforming the Tampa Bay Lightning into one of the most-admired brands in the Tampa Bay community and one of the most well-respected organizations in all of sports. The highlight of the organization came in 2016 when the Tampa Bay Lightning were recognized as the #1 Sports Franchise (out of 122 sports franchises) by ESPN for its excellence in a variety of categories.
